officer to arrange with a representative of Messrs. Okura and Co. all matters in connection with the opening of the mine, and also within a period of three months to draw up detailed regulations for its working. The superintendent will then submit the regulations to the Viceroy for his approval.
15. This agreement is drawn up in Chinese and Japanese in quintuplicate. One copy for the Viceroy to be placed on record, one copy for the Commissioner of the Foreign Board, one for the company, one for Messrs. Okura and Co., and one to be handed to the Japanese consul.
In the event of differences arising as regards the interpretation of the text, the Chinese version is to be deemed authoritative.
